Macy's Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade

macys parade

Sean and Denise and the Letchworth crew have been balloon handlers in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. The three mile long parade is attended by over two million people and watched by 44 million on television. The spectacular parade began in 1924 and features over 10,000 marchers, celebrities, clowns and of course the famous signature helium balloons.

Walking the balloons through the streets of New York is a great thrill. Denise and I love donating our time for such a happy event. It kick starts the holiday season for us. No matter what the weather is like, the people are there with huge smiles on their faces!

The first picture shows us (Denise and Sean Quigley, Debby Fiala, Rocky Fiala, Tom Kolb and Karen Keefer) waiting for the parade to get started. Note the nets holding the Kermit The Frog balloon down.
